Case studies
Our case studies are varied. There’s no template for the people and organisations who have embraced Slivers-of-Time Working so far. The reasons individuals want to work this way range from illness or caring commitments through to a desire for variety while looking for a career to settle into.
For some businesses the motivation is a need to match staffing precisely with unpredictable customer flows. Others have regular - but short - peaks in activity; mealtimes for a caterer for example. Their need is for mini-shifts of one or two hours. Some companies genuinely want to engage with local communities and understand how hiring Slivers-of-Time Workers can push their work out into far more households.
We are not allowed to talk publicly about some of the organisations starting to buy Slivers-of-Time Workers. Many of the sellers don’t want their life circumstances publicized. But the menu opposite allows you to explore some of the beneficiaries of this new strand in the labour market.
