I started using the system in the run up to Christmas. But it’s also useful for ad hoc functions. I’ve not rejected any Slivers Sellers and I’ve rejected people from almost every agency in Hull before now. The Slivers people turn up on time, in uniform, wearing black socks as specified. I like the fact I can book people at 1.00 in the morning. That’s often when things finally go quiet here and I plan tomorrow’s staffing over a cup of tea. Come back in later in the morning and everyone’s confirmed.

It’s hard to get casual workers who are Silver Service trained. The young ones don’t want to do it. It’s very demanding, either you can do it or you can’t. I did about 40 bookings in the run up to Christmas last year and they were all Silver trained.

I found out about Slivers through a friend who works at the Council. The system is a piece of cake to use.
