We’re a registered charity. We’ve just reorganized our admin. function. It now has less space and fewer staff. But we needed things organized from an objective viewpoint. Our office here is so small that we can only have someone in to do the work when once of us is out. We’ve hired a Slivers seller for some odd hours bookings to do the initial sorting out. Then they’ll be coming back for a few hours a month to keep it all on track.
Without Slivers we probably would never have done this project. We couldn’t create an office manager post, that would defeat the point of going lean. We could have tried to get someone on work placement but it takes a lot of staff time to look after them so it wouldn’t have worked.
Sorting out the office is a finite project. We needed expertise without expectation. It will end shortly and that’s fine with all concerned. Our seller has just turned up again as I’m talking to you. My colleague is out of the office studying for the next few hours so she can get on with the task.
