I started Slivers working when I went into South Liverpool Recruitment to ask about odd bits of part time employment. I was a single Mum with one child and I needed to work around that. I'd been in the Forces so I knew I had marketable skills. I met my boyfriend in the Army, we split up for a while, but now we're back together again with two children: Jack and Jamie.

My parents look after the children sometimes. Other times there's a childcarer. It seems like a hassle going out to work when I have that time to myself but I enjoy it when I get there. I'm learning a lot and it's nice to have some cash for myself. Some of it goes on shoes and haircuts!

My first Slivers buyer was a business club. They've started to book me for a few hours whenever they have a breakfast session for local businesses. I act as receptionist and collect payment on the day. My most frequent buyer is a Safety Inspection firm. I type up their reports and they've now said they want me to regularly do two shifts of six hours, and they'll just book me at the times I want each week.
