Shalisha Lambert

I’m an experienced sous chef. But the job required 12 hour shifts. I’ve got 2 children. One of them, he’s 2, is autistic. I have to take him to appointments and be available to look after him. Also, I’m starting my own business doing catering for parties in people’s houses. I need work that lets me be free for bookings. So now I work Slivers. 

I’m only doing catering work through Slivers. I don’t have any other experience so it makes sense to stick with what I know. I’ve been working in a school kitchen which I enjoy.

I’m useful in the kitchens because of my training. I don’t mind cleaning up or cooking or doing the salad preparation. Sometimes they ask me to serve in the teacher’s dining area and I just get the food sent up to me from the kitchen.
