Multiple courses can each have their own rhythm of assignments, exams and preparation times. Other students have unpredictable commitments outside their studying that are a crucial part of their preperation for a future career.  It's these people who tend to be the biggest beneficiaries of Slivers-of-Time Working.

Some of the students who most need ultra-flexible working are mature learners at Community Colleges. Often they have no grant but valuable skills. They need a forum to sell their expertise around a new determination to better themselves with further education. They can be a useful asset in the local economy.
